JUST how does the cost of tickets to the AFL Grand Final — and footy games in general — compare to some of the biggest sporting events around the world?
While some of the best tickets for the final run into the thousands of dollars, an average ticket is pretty reasonable compared to what soccer or basketball fans are forced to pay.

MEGA FUNDING DEAL TO KEEP FOOTY AFFORDABLE
All this considering the AFL Grand Final attracts the biggest crowd of any domestic club championship on the planet.
The 100,021 who saw Richmond triumph last year was much bigger than the second best attended game — the FA Cup Final (89,427) — and much bigger than the Super Bowl (67,612).
The cheapest price for a ticket to see the Tigers v Adelaide cost fans $180 while tickets to the final game in the State of Origin series start at $170.
But for those wanting to see the FA Cup at Wembley or the Superbowl fans will have to shell out big bucks.
Superbowl ticket cheapest: USD $2800-$3900 (AUD $3600-$5024)
NHL Stanley Cup Final series average: $541 ($696)
NBA Final Series Game 7 2017: $1090 ($1404)
MLB World Series average: $1800 ($2318)
FA Cup Final: from (GBP) £427.50 ($784)
Wimbledon Final Tickets 2018: Centre Court from £210 ($385)
However, if you’ve got a footy club membership you’re still paying less than a serious fan in the US or UK.
An adult AFL membership costs $600 per year, while Collingwood Legends membership is $899 upfront.
But if you want to be a season-ticket holder to NBA champions the Golden State Warriors prices are reportedly around USD $30,000 per year ($38,642). And that’s if you can get one, with a waitlist of more than 32,000 people.
Season passes for Manchester United range from £532 ($975) to £950 ($1741) — and these passes don’t include seats at any cup matches.
