TODAY is October 21 and anybody who has been on the internet in the past six months will know this is the date Marty McFly and Doc Brown visited when they travelled forward in time in the popular Back to the Future film series.
But things look pretty different to how the film’s makers predicted, especially in Melbourne.
Despite having Tony Abbott as Prime Minister for two years, the city hasn’t gone back in time.
But with tin can Hitachi trains put out of service just one year ago, there are no signs of big leaps forward, either.
Here is how the film’s predictions of how 2015 would look match up with reality in our fair city.
