Melbourne’s Grand Prix will host a record number of premium suites amid unprecedented demand from the top end of town.

Australian Grand Prix organisers will on Monday unveil a new Red Line suite with this year’s race – the first in three years – to now host a record 21 premium facilities.

The unprecedented premium line-up will be welcome by the state’s hard hit events industry given the key role corporate activity plays in filling its coffers.

The new two-storey Red Line suite will rise above turn four on a redesigned course being rolled out for the highly anticipated 2022 race.

Australian Grand Prix Corporation general sales manager Michelle Greco said event organisers were ready to host a “massive” crowd over the four-day sporting spectacle in April.

“This new two-storey marquee, located at Turn 4, is the perfect pit stop for punters looking to get the most out of the Formula 1 Heineken Australian Grand Prix,” she said.

“If demand for premium hospitality packages is anything to go be, we’re expecting a massive crowd at the Formula 1 Heineken Australian Grand Prix 2022 and we cannot wait to welcome everyone back to Albert Park in April.”

Red Line tickets start at $795 and will go on sale on February 8, along with the final release of other corporate hospitality packages.

Thursday hospitality packages start from $299.

This year’s Albert Park precinct will be split into zones designed to showcase the best of what the state has to offer.

The zones are the Grampians, Yarra Valley, Phillip Island, Great Ocean Rd and Melbourne’s CBD.

Fans will be free to roam between each section with local businesses, chefs, musicians and artists invited to spruik their wares in each space.

Grandstands include Summerland on turn 5, The Balconies of turn 8, Clark between turn 8 and 9, The Pinnacles on turn 11 and Lauda on turn 12.

Race organisers say they are prepared to host crowds of more than 100,000 a day as spectacle roars back onto the state’s major events calendar.

The Grand Prix was the first major event called off due to Covid with fans memorably turned away from the gates on day two before the F1 cars had hit the track.
