Geelong superstar Patrick Dangerfield was forced to come to the rescue of his cousin who was attacked in an ugly surf-rage assault.
It’s understood Dangerfield’s cousin was “king-hit” and had his board trashed while surfing last month with the assault witnessed by a number of other surfers.
The Brownlow Medallist was also out on his board at the same time near Moggs Creek but didn’t see the random attack.

It is believed his cousin may have suffered two black eyes during the scuffle.
After being made aware of the incident, Dangerfield and several others confronted the man on the beach.
Witnesses said the surfer was agitated and behaving irrationally throughout the entire time before police arrived.
A Victoria Police spokesman told the Herald Sun: “Police are investigating an assault between two surfers at Fairhaven Beach about 9am on 2 February.”
“The victim, a 29-year-old from Aireys Inlet, sustained minor facial injuries during the incident. The investigation remains ongoing,” the spokesman said.
Dangerfield is a passionate surfer who regularly uses time out on his board as part of his pre-match routine.
He was unavailable for comment yesterday.
