DETECTIVES are probing whether a man whose body may have been driven around Geelong for days was struck on the head with a heavy tool.
The victim has been named as Jason Fry, aged 41, a father of three living in North Shore.
Homicide squad officers on Tuesday arrested a man aged in his 40s in the town of Lara, north of Geelong.

Family paid tribute to Mr Fry, who previously lived in Melbourne’s southeast.
It is understood police have seized a possible murder weapon, believed to be a tool found after the discovery of the body. It will be forensically tested.
Family paid tribute to “one of a kind” Mr Fry, who previously lived in Melbourne’s southeast before moving to the Geelong area.
Niece Kirra Adams said: “He was my uncle. I am heartbroken. I loved him.
“He was a loving, caring man who would do anything for anyone and didn’t deserve to pass away by a cold-blooded murder,” she added.
Nephew Jake Adams paid tribute online: “Forever in my heart and never forgotten! RIP Uncle Jason till we meet again.”
Friends said they had been concerned for Mr Fry’s welfare, and he had recently been selling personal items. One close friend said Mr Fry, who was known to police, had in recent weeks been asking for money.
“I did ask him if everything was all right. He sort-of brushed me off with, ‘Nah not really, but all good’,” he said.
Police were responding to reports of a house burglary in Seaforth St, North Shore, when they found Mr Fry’s body in a station wagon about 11am on Sunday.
Officers were searching the area when they opened the boot of the parked VT Holden Commodore and made the grim discovery.
They now believe the car, with Mr Fry’s body on board, was moved multiple times over the preceding week.
Detectives were seen taking photos of items in the car, including a roll of taped-up carpet which it is believed had been covering the body.
