TEEN thugs linked to an emerging gang, Menace to Society, have shamelessly taunted police, bragging on social media about their reckless behaviour damaging property as well as their desire to continue chaos in Melbourne’s western suburbs.

The network of youths, mainly of Sudanese origin, regularly boast on social media about their disregard for the law, posting photos of weapons and promoting gang culture.

A group of three youths, two of Sudanese appearance, posed in front of a red car outside Ecoville Community Park in Tarneit on December 30, boasting they’d trashed the centre.

“I did this … it’s done … I’ll do it again,” the post on Instagram by a Sudanese male said.

Another post said: “You know where I be. I’m at Ecoville free da gang all my niggas locked in Parkville.”

The youths have turned the Ecoville Community Park in Tarneit, in Melbourne’s west, into a no-go zone.

Another Menace to Society (MTS) gang member has been found pictured posing in front of a police Public Order Response vehicle on December 20, the night a house rented via Airbnb in Werribee was trashed and only brought under control when riot police were called in.

“Never fold, never speak on what I know, what I was taught,” the caption reads.

At this party, rocks and metal poles were thrown at police officers as the out-of-control house party turned violent. The dried residue from riot police capsicum spray marks the walls and blinds.

Horrified  residents described the scene as being “like a war zone”.

A large group of African youths have also been captured disrespecting uniformed police officers.

The image, which has been publicly circulated by several youths, shows about a dozen African males making rude gestures toward three officers.

Most have their face covered by T-shirts and are pointing their middle finger at police.

One MTS member posted to social media, bragging about the close-knit nature of the gang.

“Never switch up for the fame, never switch up for the change, never switch up on the gangs …#MTS,” it said.

Other violent images which portray drug use, guns and armed hold-ups were also posted by youths, including one male who posted a picture of a police officer kneeling in a pool of blood with a sword through his chest.

Out-of-control youth gangs in Victoria have become a major issue in recent weeks.

After the Werribee riot on December 20, the Herald Sun reported on the Ecoville Community Park in Tarneit which had become a no-go zone.

The once family-friendly community centre was trashed, with the MTS tag daubed on the walls.

A police officer was kicked in the head at Highpoint shopping centre in Maribyrnong while arresting a young thief on Boxing Day.

The 17-year-old allegedly responsible was then bailed, prompting the Police Association secretary Wayne Gatt to say: “When a person trying to uphold the law and protect the community comes home from their day at work looking like this, there is a real problem.”

On January 4, a 59-year-old woman was traumatised by 14 young men, of African appearance, who broke into a house she was looking after for relatives.

She was held hostage and hit in the face while the gang ransacked the house in Hillside, in the city’s northwest.
