Confronting footage has emerged of the moment a gang of masked youths armed with machetes raided a suburban petrol station for cigarettes.
Three teenagers were filmed dumping trays of smokes into the back of their stolen luxury car at the BP service station in Hughesdale just before midnight on December 4.
One of the hooded youths was seen jumping the service station counter, raiding the cigarette cabinets before handing several trays to one of his alleged accomplices.
That masked teen was filmed making several dashes from the counter to the Volkswagen, dumping hundreds of packs of legal smokes into the boot.
He discarded the empty trays near the petrol bowsers and the service station attendant was nowhere to be seen.
The figure behind the counter was pictured holding a huge machete in the alleged armed robbery, which lasted just minutes.
One of them group appeared to throw a gang sign at the person behind the camera, unfazed that they were recording part of their late-night crusade.
After shoving the cigarettes further into the T-Roc’s boot, the group climbed into the rear passenger seats, suggesting another was stationed behind the wheel.
The allegedly stolen Volkswagen sped off moments later.
Police arrested a 15-year-old boy on Wednesday.
He was charged with six counts of armed robbery and theft of motor vehicle.
He was remanded in custody to appear at a children’s court at a later date.
Police are still trying to identify the other alleged offenders.
It is believed that the BP, on the corner of Poath and North roads in Hughesdale, was targeted during a wave of alleged armed robberies on that night.
It is understood the same crew hit service stations in Glen Iris, Blackburn, Blackburn North, Ringwood and Caulfield South.
Police allege the Volkswagen was stolen from a Doncaster home on December 2 and no injuries were reported.
