Lucus Garzoli had an infectious laugh, was a keen Essendon football fan and a loving son and brother.

He will also be “forever fourteen”, his devastated family and friends said as they farewelled the Hamilton teenager at a funeral on Wednesday.

The service for the Bainbridge College Year 9 student was the first of a series of funerals to be held in the coming days, following one of the region’s most horrific crashes that claimed the lives of three teenagers and a woman in late May.

The Garzoli family gathered at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd to pay tribute to Lucus in front of hundreds of members of the Hamilton community.

Those in attendance shared tears and embraces at a touching service, before a private ceremony was hosted for family members.

Lucus was one of three teenagers who died when the car they were travelling in slammed into a tree along Wannon-Nigretta Falls Rd in the early hours of May 27.

Services for Joshua Elmes, 15, and Megan Fox, 14, are set to be held separately on the weekend and next week.

Members of the Elmes and Fox family could be seen showing their support at yesterday’s service.

Lucus was remembered as having an infectious laugh and smile, a much loved sibling and son to his family.

“Forever 14 in our hearts,” read a tribute shared at the service.

In support of Lucus’s favourite footy team, many at the service donned Essendon scarfs and guernseys.

A service for Alicia Montebello, 31, the fourth person killed during the horror crash, has not yet been confirmed.

It is understood that the lone survivor of the crash 17-year-old Jorja Fox, Megan’s sister, remains in a stable condition in hospital.

Shocking video from inside the car revealed the group was travelling up to 130 km/h on the dangerous stretch of road, prompting calls from the community to permanently decreasing the speed limit to 100 km/h.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
