FREE coffee — two words that will always seduce Melbourne’s caffeine-addicted drinkers.
And it’s true. The city’s cafe institution Brunetti is giving away free coffee at its Flinders Lane store for an hour this morning to mark International Coffee Day.
Brunetti’s 85-year-old co-owner Giorgio Angele will be on hand, as he is most days, to help serve the best cappuccinos, piccolos and flat whites.

The promotion is being held with global Italian coffeehouse Lavazza, which will launch their collaborative Brunetti house blend, which is roasted in North Melbourne.
Brunetti serves more than one tonne of coffee at its Melbourne cafes every week.
Free coffee will served between 10am and 11am at 250 Flinders Lane in the CBD.
A survey for Lavazza Australia found that Melburnians buy an average 3.91 cups of coffee from a cafe, restaurant or bar every per week.
Most drinkers have milk but 5 per cent of Melburnians have their coffee black, the Italian way.
