Footy, pie. Footy, pie. Olympics, pie?
Four’N Twenty pies are set to be sold at Japan’s Rugby World Cup later this year and the Tokyo Olympics next year.
Today — April 20 — will be declared Four’N Twenty Day in Japan as it is announced the popular Australian pies will also hit local supermarket shelves for the first time.

Stuart Smyth, from its Gippsland producer Patties Foods, said Four’N Twenty Day would “bring a bit more of the Aussie way of life to Japan”.
“We believe this should be an international holiday, where we all tuck into The Great Australian Taste,” he said.
In 2017, Patties named Japan as its top target market in Asia.
It believed Japan had the recipe for success because its large population typically love Australian beef and sport.
It is not the first time sport has launched the Australian pie overseas — it last year bit into the American market with the help of Australian NBA superstar Ben Simmons and his Philadelphia 76s.
Jobs, Innovation and Trade Minister Martin Pakula said while people often thought of a Four’N Twenty at the footy, the pie was now making waves overseas.
“Japan is a long-time partner and friend of Victoria and it’s great to be able to share a beloved tradition with our Japanese friends while supporting the work of an iconic Victorian brand,” he said.
