Four mobile speed cameras were spotted within 100m in St Albans

A stream of speed cameras parked along a street in Melbourne’s west has enraged drivers with one labelling the scene simply “unbelievable”.

4 speed cameras on the one street in St Albans

Drivers are raging on social media after four mobile speed camera operators that stationed themselves in the same street in Melbourne’s north west this week.

A perplexed local pulled out his mobile phone and walked from one mobile camera to the next, during which the four cameras could be seen parked just metres away from one another on Biggs Street in St Albans.

The man recording the procession of speed cameras discovered one of the vehicles posed as a car belonging to a green P-plater as the operator sat in the front seat.

“Have a look at this cheeky bugger,” he said in the video, posted to a personal Facebook account.

“I’ve never seen this,” he said.

“This is unbelievable.”

“All on one street, four of them.”

Two red Nissan Pathfinders can be seen parked a short work from one another, followed by two Kia Sorrentos, all equipped with speed cameras facing the street out of the rear cars’ rear windows.

The video has been shared almost 7000 times in less than 24 hours, with thousands of other shocked and confused users taking to the comments to voice their anger.

“What a joke,” Larri McNamee wrote.

“What a waste of resources. Instead of just sitting there get out and nab people for driving under the influence or speeding in other areas,” Noelene Jones said.

“Insane grab for cash nothing to do with safety,” Daniel Gorza commented.

The post from a man with the Facebook handle Emro N Sabina Abazovic has garnered more than 1500 reactions since posting the video less than a day ago.

Users were also concerned that speedsters would cop four separate speeding fines if they were caught racing down the residential street.

“Does that mean the speeding person ends up with 4 tickets?” one user commented.

“Imagine getting done by all 4 of them,” another wrote.
