Former Treasurer Josh Frydenberg has launched a blistering attack on the Prime Minister over his failure to stop anti-Semitism.
In an open letter to the Prime Minister, Mr Fydenberg a leading member of the Jewish community, said social cohesion had broken down under the Albanese government.
“Prime Minister what will it take for the penny to drop,’’ he said.
“Your government’s inaction has emboldened those that hate and those that harm.’’
Mr Fydenberh’s impassioned plea followed the firebombing of a Glen Eira synagogue on Friday morning.
“The firebombing of the Adass Synagogue in Melbourne is an absolute outrage,’’ Mr Frydenberg said in the letter to the Prime Minister.
“The latest in a long list of dangerous antisemitic attacks that has occurred on your watch.
Mr Frydenberg called on the Prime Minister and his Labor ministers to act to stop the hatred, “to do your job’’ and “not merely mouthing worthless words that mean nothing and lead to nothing.
“Prime Minister how have you let it get to this,’’ he said.
“Responsibility rests at your door.
“Our community which has contributed so much to our country now feels alone and vulnerable.’’
