INNER north hipster and fine food enthusiast Ned Trumble is already planning his next big culinary spread for the footy.
The 29-year-old Fitzroy North foodie — famously pictured indulging in a smorgasbord of soft cheeses, cured meats and smashed avocado during last weekend’s clash between Melbourne and St Kilda — will pack a more “ethnically exciting” feast when he next returns to the MCG. “I might pack a curry or sushi rolls,” he said.
“There is so much amazing food to be had in Melbourne, so if you want something different to a pie or hot dog at the footy, there are good options out there.”
The Dees supporter became a viral sensation after he and his friends were snapped tucking into their gourmet feast on Sunday.
Fellow spectators looked on as the uniquely dressed men made their way through the well-prepared cheeseboard, including green olives, semi-sun-dried tomatoes and a freshly baked baguette.

Mr Trumble said he had smoked salmon and trout in his backpack but chose not to pull it out to avoid stinking out the crowd.
“We saved it for later,” he said.
Though he has grand plans for his next footy feast, he wouldn’t rule out a fusion of flavours where the traditional meat pie takes centrestage.
“I’d like to combine the two. Have a course of cheese after the pie.”
Mr Trumble said no effort is too great when it comes to eating well.
“I took an Aussie burger for a day hike once. I was living in Hong Kong and climbing Sunset Peak on Lantau Island. I took all the elements ... a pattie, egg, bacon, beetroot and buns in takeaway containers and assembled it at the top.”
Mr Trumble plans to step up his food game when he watches his team take on Collingwood at the MCG on Saturday week.
“My next hamper for the footy will hopefully live up to the hype, and indeed even supersede its predecessor.”
