A far-right group has clashed with African men after they filmed them playing soccer at St Kilda Beach.

Neil Erikson, who has been linked to the United Patriots Front, posted footage of the altercation, which appears to begin when he films the young men on the boardwalk.

When the men protest and ask “Can you stop that”, police swoop in.

Footage shows the dispute continue, with police asking Erikson and his group to move away and “stop escalating the situation” because the men had “requested not to be filmed”.

One of the men who took issue with being filmed was later capsicum sprayed and arrested.

The arrest was also captured by Erikson on camera.

In the footage, a man behind the camera can be heard saying, “Yes, yes, yes,” as police hold the man to the ground and take him into custody.

Victoria Police confirmed a 25-year-old Tarneit man was arrested after refusing to move on, just after 5.30pm.

Police officers approached a group of 15 men at the South Beach Reserve, where some were being verbally abusive and were warned over their language, a spokeswoman said.

“One of the males refused to move on after multiple warnings and was arrested,” she said.

“Police were forced to deploy OC spray on the male as he attempted to assault police and resisted arrest.”

The footage was published on Facebook under Erikson’s page and titled “APEX attacking police tonight at St Kilda Beach”.

Erikson was last year convicted and fined $2000 for breaching the Racial and Religious Tolerance Act over a video stunt where he “beheaded” a dummy in protest of a mosque in Bendigo.
