A REAL estate agent charged with hundreds of offences after more than $2 million of clients’ money allegedly went missing is part of a new firm due to open in Springvale.
Former LJ Hooker agent Judy Nguyen has been listed as the “director — business management” of a real estate agency in Springvale set for a “grand opening” on Monday.
The ad for the new Oz Capital Real Estate Agency is written in Vietnamese and appeared in a local newspaper.
Ms Nguyen’s six LJ Hooker franchises in Glen Waverley, Mount Waverley, Keysborough, Burwood, Doncaster and Box Hill were shut down and taken over by Consumer Affairs in April last year after millions of dollars owed to homeowners, landlords and tenants allegedly went missing.
A Consumer Affairs spokeswoman said: “Consumer Affairs Victoria is aware of the advertisement regarding Judy Nguyen and is assessing all options available under existing legislation.”
Ms Nguyen, who also goes by Judy Tranh Truc, is facing court for the 331 alleged breaches of the Estate Agents Act.
Her husband and alleged partner in crime Joseph Ngo also faces 304 charges of a similar nature.
The case is due to return to court on May 19.
Ms Nguyen has been contacted for comment.
