FLAMBOYANT ex-Geelong mayor Darryn Lyons is considering running in the state election as an independent.
Speaking from London on Saturday night, Mr Lyons said he was weighing up his options.
Spring St has been alive with rumours Mr Lyons is set to run as an independent for the seat of Geelong, currently held by Labor’s Christine Couzens.
Mr Lyons told the Sunday Herald Sun he was using his time overseas to consider his next move and said he still wanted to contribute to Geelong after being sacked as Mayor in 2016 over bullying allegations.
Asked about a running as an independent in the state election, Mr Lyons said, “I’m seriously considering it.’’
“I haven’t finalised my decision.’’
