Former Miss Universe Australia Maria Thattil and AFLW trailblazer Moana Hope have both taken separately to social media to confirm they have ended their high profile relationship of more than 16 months.

Former Miss Universe Australia Maria Thattil has broken her silence on her split with her lover of 16 months, AFLW trailblazer Moana Hope.
After months of rumours about the state of their relationship, Thattil finally addressed the issue, confirming on Saturday that the “beautiful” relationship was over.
“Moana and I have shared a beautiful relationship but wish to share we have decided to go our separate ways,” Thattil posted on an Instagram story.
“We do this with nothing but respect and care for one another and will always support each other. Thank you for all the love and support.
“Whilst I will have work obligations to post, please know this is not an easy thing to go through & appreciate privacy around this.”
On Saturday night Hope also addressed their split.
“Maria and I have shared a beautiful relationship, but wish to share that we have decided to go our separate ways,” Hope posted on Instagram.
“We do this with nothing but respect and care for one another and will always support each other.
“Thank you for all the love and support.”
The pair have been a high profile red carpet couple in Melbourne since they confirmed they were seeing each other in September 2023.
The state of their romance became a talking point after they were expected to attend the NGV Gala in December, however only Thattil arrived on the night.
In mid-January Hope told the Herald Sun she was “not single” and was still with Hope.
“I’m not single,” she said.
“I’ve seen rumours but that’s honestly all it is
“We are good and excited for the year ahead. Excited for 2025 together and it’s going to be great.
“Nothing has come from us. We are investing in ourselves.”
The pair celebrated Maria’s 32nd birthday together in Melbourne in early February.
