Man charged after Elwood crash leaves driver dead
One driver is dead and another has been charged after a horrific crash on Elwood’s main street on Thursday night.

Police have charged a Brighton man after a fatal crash in Elwood on Thursday night.
A Nissan sedan and Holden utility collided on Ormond Esplanade, near Pine Avenue, about 10.45pm.
The driver of the Nissan, a 24-year-old Caulfield South man, died at the scene.
The 23-year-old driver of the Holden has been charged with culpable driving causing death.
On Friday morning both cars were being towed from the scene, which is across from the entrance to Elwood Bathers.
The Holden ute could be seen with significant damage to its front, while the windscreen of the Nissan was shattered.
Skid marks could be seen along the popular stretch of road, as well as debris scattered about a nearby nature strip.
Ormond Esplanade remained closed on Friday morning.
Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash, or people who have dashcam footage or CCTV to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
