Easey’s burgers, Little Havana sandwiches among AO Opening Week food

Tennis fans can enjoy Australian Open action a week earlier than usual in 2024 – including food from a host of Melbourne-famous eateries. See what’s being served.

Ace Collingwood burger joint Easey’s will make its Australian Open debut next month.

The eatery’s Melbourne Park pop-up will be open at Grand Slam Oval from the final day of AO Opening Week, January 13, and through the main tournament.

It’s one of several Melbourne-famous food and drink outlets that will be available to fans attending AO Opening Week, a new six-day event presented by the Herald Sun and kicking off on January 8.

Others include Cuban sandwich shop Little Havana, healthy bowl bar Green-On and Lygon St trio King & Godfree, D.O.C and Brunetti Classico.

Easey’s co-owner Jimmy Hurlston said he couldn’t wait to bring a taste of his restaurant to the Australian Open.

“I’ve been a tennis fan for a very long time,” he said. “It’s really nice to be involved in one of the biggest showcases Melbourne – and Australia – has to the rest of the world.”

Four types of burgers – including a southern fried chicken sandwich, a cheeseburger and a plant-based option – will be on Easey’s AO menu, alongside gourmet hot dogs and chips.
