FORMER Collingwood star Dane Swan has vowed to help great mate Dustin Martin have the US adventure he deserves after his history-making season with the Tigers.
Swan and Martin have kicked off their party trip in Texas, with Swan yesterday posting an Instagram picture of them enjoying a few beverages with former St Kilda player Sam Fisher and a mate at the Austin City Limits Music Festival.

“He has won absolutely everything that has come his way, so he deserves to have a bit of fun now and I am pretty sure he will,” Swan said.
“It will be good for him to go away. He could run for premier of Victoria right now and he would win in a landslide.”
Martin was expected to join Swan on the Gold Coast last weekend for DJ Matt Stafford’s wedding, but passed on his apologies and quietly headed to New Zealand to see his father.

Swan said the six-week US holiday was the last on his self-imposed gap year.
“I have done all the fun things I have never been able to do while playing footy,” he said. “I have one more little stint in me and I will have to come back and re-evaluate my life. It is the unhealthiest I have ever been, but geez, I have had a good time.”
