AN unapologetic Dustin Martin has finally broken his silence on “chopstickgate”, nearly two years after the incident where a woman claimed he threatened her with a chopstick.
He was accused of vowing to stab a woman in the face with a pair of chopsticks, before slamming his open palm into the wall behind her head at Windsor eatery Mr Miyagi on December 5, 2015.

POLICE CLEAR MARTIN OVER CHOPSTICK CLAIM
In an interview on The Footy Show last night, the newly re-signed Tiger spoke about the matter for the first time during a series of questions by host Eddie McGuire.
“You felt that pretty keenly didn’t you? You felt that you’d been attacked … ridiculed in the media and it was unfair,” McGuire said.
Martin replied: “It is what it is, it’s in the past now - it was a difficult time at the time.”
When pressed, the Richmond star admitted he was drunk at the restaurant, where the altercation occurred.
“I was just out during the day at a music festival, had a bit too much to drink and was at a restaurant,” he said.
Co-host Sam Newman interrupted, saying, “yeah, someone was annoying you”.
Martin downplayed the incident, maintaining that he did not threaten the woman involved.
He also said “chopstickgate” taught him important lessons.
“You just don't go out as much (and) learn new things every year … I do a bit of meditation, a bit of extra boxing - stuff like that,” he said.
Martin was cleared of making threats to kill by the police and AFL after investigations lasting more than five weeks.
The Tigers imposed a $5000 fine on their star onballer, but suspended it after deciding the damage to his reputation was punishment enough.
Martin also apologised to the woman at the centre of the incident.
