Driver seen doing 150km/h near Melbourne

AN eratic driver has been seen hitting more than 150km/h on the Hume Freeway and is now making his way through Melbourne suburbs.

A DRIVER has been spotted speeding more than 150km/h on the Hume Fwy north of Melbourne this morning.

The silver Holden Commodore, possibly with Queensland registration plates, was reported to be driving erratically about 6.30am before being seen a short time later around Wallan, heading towards the city, police said.

A 3AW caller told the radio station he saw the speeding car near the Kalkallo Hotel.

“The Commodore’s come up the inside on the emergency lane doing anywhere in excess of 150km/h,” the man said.

Another caller told the station the car was on Oaklands Rd heading towards the airport, with a male driver and female passenger inside.

Police said there was no pursuit at this stage and urged anyone who saw the car to contact Triple-0.
