Dozens of firefighters tackle out-of-control Wantirna rubbish blaze
A TIP fire which blanketed Wantirna in smoke near EastLink is now under control after dozens of firefighters battling the blaze this afternoon.

A TIP fire which blanketed Wantirna in smoke near EastLink is now under control after dozens of firefighters battling the blaze this afternoon.
It took the firefighters more than two hours to bring it under control.
More than 30 vehicles and more than 50 firefighters were called to the blaze just before 2pm at the Knox Transfer Station and recycling facility at George St.
The blaze broke out close to the EastLink motorway and people have been warned to avoid the area because of smoke.
