Deliveroo promotional cyclists fined for riding through Melbourne’s Burnley Tunnel

TAKING a shortcut through the Burnley Tunnel hasn’t ended well for two cyclists promoting food delivery service Deliveroo.

TAKING a shortcut through the Burnley Tunnel hasn’t ended well for two cyclists.

Police were called after reports two cyclists promoting the Deliveroo food delivery service were riding through the busy tunnel outbound about 11am.

Two men, a 25-year-old and a 27-year-old Brazilian National, were issued infringement notices for unlawfully riding on a freeway and failing to have lights and equipment.

The delivery cyclists were riding bikes with trailers attached.

WorkSafe has been notified of the incident.
