delicious.100: Victoria’s 100 best restaurants

IT’S a tough job, but someone’s got to do it. Our food reviewers clocked up some serious miles on the road (and the treadmill) to compile the delicious.100. But who will be the winner of Victoria’s only ranked food guide?

IT’S a tough job, but someone’s got to do it. Well, three of us.

In compiling the 2017 delicious.100 — Victoria’s only ranked guide to the 100 top restaurants — Sunday Herald Sun food reviewers Dan Stock, Megan Miller and Simon Plant clocked up some serious miles on the road (and then on the treadmill) to sort the good and the great into the most delicious in the state.

Across the six months it takes to compile the annual list, they:

— Visited 229 venues

— Ate 2061 dishes

— Drank 343 litres of sparkling water

— Sipped 495 glasses of wine

— Spent $2500 in babysitting fees

— Caught 184 Ubers to and from restaurants

— Used 14 pseudonyms when booking

— Nibbled 458 slices of sourdough smeared with 2.3kg of butter

— Ate 98 octopus tentacles and 84 kingfish dishes

— Had 176 food comas

— Were served by 916 waiters

— Drove 12,025kms

— Waited three months for the longest booking, and

— Sat in the same seat for more than four hours to consume the longest meal.
