Craig McRae shares cute photo of baby Maggie in the premiership cup

Maggie McRae, the baby girl born to Magpies coach Craig and wife Gabrielle on Grand Final morning, has posed for a special photo with her dad and the premiership cup.

Collingwood coach Craig McRae has all he needs – a treasured new daughter and precious shiny silverware.

In a picture that captures his perfect weekend, McRae posed on Monday beside his beautiful baby Maggie resting in the Magpies’ 16th Premiership Cup.

His little bundle of joy was wrapped up in a Magpies scarf as he clutched his coach’s medal.

McRae’s wife Gabrielle gave birth at 7.45am on Saturday before he led his side to premiership glory.

“I’ll try not to cry but it’s just such an incredible thing, it’s just the joy,” he told Fox Footy’s AFL360.

“If you’re lucky enough to be a father and you have this baby in your hands and the moment of tears … and the appreciation for what my wife did and continues to do. How special this moment is. I’m wiping the tears away for two hours and then I’ve got to go to a grand final. It’ll be a day that’ll never be repeated.

“I’m a private guy and my family is really private but (this is) a moment we captured today.”

When asked what it all means, McRae simply said “so much”.

“This Cup here represents our fans, we said from day one we’re going to bring back the Cup, the journey has been a remarkable one.”

On Saturday McRae revealed his personal joy while accepting the ultimate professional accolade at the MCG post-match.

He said he wasn’t sure what would have happened if Gabrielle had gone into labour at noon instead.

“The tears flowing this morning, my wife has been remarkable,” McRae said post-match on Saturday.

“She went into labour and went to the hospital with her sister, and went without me to let me sleep in. I had no idea what was going on.

“She is just so amazing, it’s going to make me cry. I am just so proud of her.”
