Could this be Victoria’s weirdest milkshake?

JUST when you thought the state’s obsession with crazy milkshakes was over, a Gippsland town has been inspired by a humble garden bulb for its wacky new creation.

The Godfather of all milkshakes

THE creators behind Gippsland’s first garlic milkshake reckon they’ve blitzed the competition when it comes to unique flavours.

Eager to get involved with this weekend’s Meeniyan Garlic Festival, the owners of boutique milk company Gippsland Jersey set a local chef the task of creating the drink with a twist.

The result? Five stars, according to early reviews, with critics describing it as “well balanced’’, landing somewhere between savoury and sweet.

“It tastes amazing,’’ Gippsland Jersey co-owner Sally Jones said.

Though, she joked, the jury was out when it comes to the economic viability of the garlic shake.

SWEET WAY TO SHAKE OFF WINTER BLUES

Chef Meg Viney said patrons could enjoy the drink without fear of the dreaded garlic breath.

Gippsland Jersey will be among a string of exhibitors at the garlic festival this Saturday.
