Blues legend Brendan Fevola and Magpies great Dane Swan will brave the slide into icy cold water in support of finding a cure for motor neurone disease (MND).
The Queen’s Birthday AFL Collingwood vs Melbourne game will see long-time rivals battle, but in the hour before the game fans can support the fight against MND.
As one of Australia’s most successful community fundraising events, Big Freeze has seen more than 280,000 people fill the MCG over the past four years to support the day and raise millions of dollars to fight MND.
The non-for-profit organisation is the bedrock for Australian’s fighting “The Beast” and has committed $7.6 million to new research projects commencing this year.

The MCG Big Freeze fundraiser will kick off at 2pm with beanies on sale and donations welcome before the showdown between Collingwood and Melbourne.
FightMND’s Big Freeze event turns a cool five this year and thousands of footy fans will watch on as the retired AFL star takes the plunge down the infamous Big Freeze slide.
