A four-year-old boy critically injured in a crash in Dallas in Melbourne’s northern suburbs is making a positive recovery.
The boy is this morning in a serious but stable condition at the Royal Children’s Hospital after being listed as critical last night.
A seven-year-old boy who was in the same vehicle as the four-year-old was taken to hospital for observation.
He was discharged from hospital overnight.
The boys were involved in a car accident on Wednesday afternoon.
The two-car smash happened on Barry Rd, 17km north of Melbourne CBD, about 5.15pm.
Two four-year-old boys from the other vehicle were treated at the scene for minor injuries.
The drivers of the two vehicles — a 26-year-old woman and a 36-year-old woman — were both uninjured.
They are helping police.
Fawkner Highway Patrol officers said it was thought the two vehicles were both travelling east on Barry Rd when they collided.
Investigators have spoken with several people who were in the area at the time and witnessed the collision.
