Celebrity chef Shannon Bennett’s restaurant site ablaze in Dandenongs
Part of Shannon Bennett’s cafe in the Dandenongs has caught fire during the Sunday lunchtime rush, in a blaze that took the efforts of seven CFA crews to contain.

Celebrity chef Shannon Bennett’s Dandenongs establishment went up in flames during the Sunday lunchtime rush.
A building between the picturesque Piggery Cafe and the Alfred Nicholas Memorial Garden caught fire about 1pm.

“One of the heritage sheds has caught fire,” chef Shannon Bennett told the Herald Sun.
“Not sure the cause.
“All under control now.”
It took seven CFA crews about half an hour to control the blaze.
Police, paramedics and firefighters attended the scene.
The Piggery Cafe, attached to the Burnham Bakery, is part of Mr Bennett’s Operation Burnham Beeches.
Bennet and business partner Adam Garrison plan to create Australia’s first six star luxury retreat alongside the country’s longest chicken run, an automated dairy, a steakhouse and a microbrewery.
