Brutal road rage attack in Deer Park capture on video

Horrified motorists watched on as a knife-wielding man was beaten to the ground with a shovel and metal pole in a wild road rage attack.

Footage has surfaced of a wild street brawl in Deer Park on Sunday afternoon, as a knife-wielding man was beaten to the ground with a shovel and metal pole.

The bloody roadside violence erupted in broad daylight in front of horrified motorists.

A Victoria Police spokesman said investigators were told a fight broke out between two men near the intersection of Ballarat Road and Station Road about 4.15pm.

Video footage obtained by Nine showed blood splattered across the car, before a man emerged from the driver’s seat armed with a knife.

He was outmatched by another man who knocked him out with a shovel and metal pole.

Terrified witnesses could be heard screaming for help as the man, who appears to be unconscious, is dragged away.

A spokesperson from Ambulance Victoria said the man in his 50s was taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital in a serious but stable condition with upper body injuries.

The parties involved are believed to be known to one another and the investigation is ongoing.
