Looking for things to do with the kids or grandkids these schools holidays? Here are some events that are sure to keep them entertained.
Regional
Visitors to the Halls Gap Zoo in western Victoria have the opportunity to hand feed two of the most adorable zoo residents.
The zoo’s two red pandas, including six year old “temperamental” Mohan, are among the dozens of animals zoo visitors can see, with others, including saltwater crocodiles, giraffes and cheetahs.
It costs $90 per person to participate in the red panda feeding.
Zookeper Haylee Burton said that “in the encounter, people are brought into the enclosure, and the pandas will eat food from their hand.”
City
Classic Australian burger brand Grill’d is offering cooking masterclasses to kids aged 5-10.
Grill’d chief marketing officer Ben Goss said kids get the chance to learn about nutrition and locally sourced ingredients.
“The best part is they get to eat what they make,” Mr Goss said.
“We’re hoping it lays the foundations for positive nutrition choices in their future,” he said.
Suburbs
Visitors to the Funderdome in Maribyrnong these school holidays get to immerse themselves in two hours of unlimited arcade gaming.
Marketing Lead at the Funderdome Meg Hodgson said the Funderdome offers visitors the chance to “maximise the fun no matter what your age is or your skills are or how you like to play.”
Ms Hodgson said the Funderdome also offers classic video games, shuffle boards, table games, and private karaoke rooms.
