Police have confirmed they are not treating the discovery of a body in the Yarra River this morning as suspicious.

Emergency services are on scene at the Yarra River this morning in Southbank following the discovery of a body.

Police were called just after 9am this morning to Southgate Avenue.

The body is yet to be identified.

Police at the scene have confirmed they are not treating the death as suspicious at this stage. They will prepare a report for the Coroner.

Ambulance Victoria and the MFB confirm they are both on scene.
