Partygoers were slapped with more than $26,000 in fines for blatantly disobeying social distancing rules in two separate incidents.

One person was hit with a $1652 penalty for organising an eight-year-old boy’s birthday bash in the swanky suburb of Beaumaris on Sunday.

Photos of the party show a large group of people close together outside a double-storey home decorated with balloons, colourful bunting and posters.

One poster read: “This way to Isaac’s party.”

Shocked passers-by dobbed the “arrogant” partygoers into police who busted up the party and fined the organiser.

Witnesses reported the street was packed with cars of guests and that they had spilt out on to the street from a cafe opposite the home.

They said more than 20 partygoers were seen outside the house.

Vic premier considers relaxing restrictions

The birthday bash is one of Victoria’s most brazen cases of disregard for the tough stage 3 lockdown restrictions.

They include restrictions on visiting the homes of friends or leaving home for non-essential purposes.

People are also prohibited from gathering in groups of more than two, apart from the people they live with.In a separate incident, 15 people were each slapped with the hefty $1652 fine after they were found partying at a house in Bentleigh East at the weekend.

All attendees received an on-the-spot fine and a 27-year-old man was interviewed in relation to hindering police.

He was released pending a summons.

Another 75 fines were issued across the state on Sunday.

Police also busted five people sitting in a car drinking and fined a 20-year-old Mildura man who was warned five times about breaching the Chief Health Officer’s stay-at home-advice.
