Charity queen Ann Peacock has left an indelible mark at Crown Melbourne, finishing up as its public face on Tuesday.

“After 29 years, today I leave Crown,” Peacock wrote on social media.

“What an amazing few decades, thankyou to everyone who has supported me on this wonderful journey XXXXXXX.”

There was an outpouring of praise for Peacock, who has been with Crown since its inception in the mid 1990s.

Touching tributes were left on her post including from Julia Morris, Rebecca Maddern, Jane Hall, Jane Kennedy, Julie Bishop, Anthony Callea, Jennifer Keyte, Bruce Keebaugh, Roxy Jacenko, Melissa Doyle, Sandra Sully, Giaan Rooney and many more.

She will return for a final time on Wednesday to MC an Ovarian Cancer Australia morning tea as a long-standing commitment.

It was announced earlier in January that Peacock was stepping down from the role. After holding senior positions she had decided to focus on pursuing charitable work and passions including a new board role on the Victoria Racing Club.

During her tenure, Peacock was instrumental in philanthropic initiatives which have raised tens of millions of dollars for causes across the state.

“I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved. It’s been a privilege to be part of Crown since opening, managing public relations, entertainment, stakeholder management and philanthropy and charity interests,” she said.

“With the recent change of ownership of Crown, it’s an appropriate time for me to hand the reins on.”
