FRANKSTON Hospital will get dozens of new beds under a $562 million redevelopment, if the government is re-elected in November.
The 11-storey new building would include 120 new hospital beds, 13 extra emergency department beds and two new operating theatres.
Two floors of the new building would also be dedicated to mental health services.

Premier Daniel Andrews said Frankston was attracting families and facing a baby boom so needed more health services to deal with the population growth.
The hospital currently deals with almost 100,000 people a year, with an additional 10,000 patients expected to go through the redeveloped hospital each year.
“This is a massive upgrade to an already fantastic health service,” Mr Andrews said.
Health Minister Jill Hennessy denied the announcement was targeted in a marginal seat and pointed to government commitments in safe western suburbs seats.
“We make investments right across the state, from Shepparton to Frankston to Footscray,” she said.
“We are really focused on where we’ve got the incredible growth and need for these services.”
If the government is re-elected, work on the new building would start in 2020.
It is expected to be complete by 2024.
