American marching band melts hearts with spectacular Bluey theme song performance

A video of an American marching band performing the Bluey theme song has gone viral, after their stunning show captured the hearts of fans worldwide.

A college brass band has taken the Bluey theme song to the world stage by performing the Aussie hit at a sporting event in a spectacle that’s since gone viral.

Purdue University’s “All-American” Marching Band captured the hearts of the blue heeler’s fans with their stunning rendition of the beloved children’s song at a cartoon-themed halftime show.

Footage of the wholesome event features the moment the crowd erupts into a cheer after the MC announces the band will perform the theme song.

As the band plays their instruments, its members are observed marching into a formation which from a bird’s eye view perspective depicts the shape of Bluey’s head.

The crowd is then heard screaming each character’s name in line with the song’s lyrics, while flag bearers and cheerleaders perform their choreography in sync on the sidelines.

The Purdue Marching Band, which has more than 389 members, is renowned for its innovative performances at football games, concerts and festivals.

Members of the band have performed worldwide including in countries like China, Ireland and Colombia, and is one of the largest marching bands in the United States.

In the week following September 11, Bluey was the second most streamed internationally produced series to be watched in the United States.

Meanwhile, it ranked the fourth most streamed series overall, according to media analytics platform Nielsen.

However, Bluey may be in store for some competition in America, after media brand The Daily Wire produced what Australians have labelled as a “knock-off” version of the preschool series, known as Chip Chilla.

The American series uses a similar animation style, music and colour palette to the Australian show.

Bluey is an adorable but relatable Australian cartoon which follows the adventures of a blue heeler puppy and her sister Bingo who along with their parents and friends, learn about life and the world.
