AirAsia to fly into Avalon, as Victoria gains second international airport

VICTORIA will have a second international airport with AirAsia to fly into Avalon Airport by the end of the year as part of a multi-million dollar deal.

The Herald Sun can reveal AirAsia will have daily flights to and from Kuala Lumpur.

It is understood a new terminal will be built for the international flights and will include a customs facility.

The new deal is being signed this week with a major announcement to be made on Sunday at the airport.

The decision is a major multi-million dollar boost for Avalon Airport, Melbourne’s western suburbs and Geelong.
