MELBOURNE’S football media landscape continues to shift with more changes expected to be announced by radio stations 3AW, Triple M and SEN.

Former SEN drive host Daniel Harford, who was recently confirmed as RSN927’s new breakfast host, has signed with 3AW.

The former Hawthorn player will be part of 3AW’s revamped commentary team and is expected to play a role in the key Friday night slot.

There are strong rumours that St Kilda great and former Richmond coach Danny Frawley will join former Triple M stablemate Garry Lyon at SEN as the sports station assembles a new and improved Friday night commentary team.

Further changes at Triple M may also be likely with the station showing particular interest in a 3AW special comments man.

SEN’s highly publicised breakfast team of Lyon, Tim Watson and Hamish McLachlan is still not official with Channel Seven said to be unhappy with the deal.

Channel Seven has invested significantly in McLachlan and there are concerns that heavy radio commitments will affect his output for the network.

Despite Seven’s objections the SEN deal is expected to be finalised this week.

Meanwhile, former Melbourne player David Schwarz and golf enthusiast Mark Allen will be reunited in the drive timeslot on SEN.

There are said to be a number of nervous contributors at the station as SEN management look to

raise the bar and the station’s ratings by “cutting the deadwood”.

Afternoon host Andy Maher was let go after more than a decade with the lowly-rating station and will be replaced by Francis Leach who moves from the breakfast shift to 12 to 4pm.

The station has also made a strong play for 3AW news breaker Sam McClure who is expected to

move to SEN in the new year.

The one constant in SEN’s 2017 line up is Richmond legend Kevin Bartlett who remains as host of the morning program.

Former Collingwood player Craig Kelly is said to be an influential figure in the changes taking place at SEN with his TLA management company representing Lyon and McLachlan.

One current employee remarked that “the joint should be renamed NedAM”.

New SEN line up:

Breakfast: Garry Lyon, Tim Watson, Hamish McLachlan

Mornings: Kevin Bartlett

Afternoons: Francis Leach

Drive: David Schwarz and Mark Allan
