IT’S been 55 years of angst for Bulldogs fans, who have sat and watched other teams compete for football immortality on Grand Final weekend.
But now, finally, Western Bulldogs fans can get the chance to show their true colours, and they are out in force.
Houses, shops and cars around Victoria have become a tapestry of red, white and blue — as fans of eliminated clubs jump on board the Bulldog bandwagon.

We are paying homage to the fans who have been there from the beginning: the true-blue kennel fanatics who haven’t smelt Grand Final glory since TV was even invented in Australia.
Diehard fan Tiffany Holman and her family has been waiting for this day for years, painting their fence to celebrate the historic day.
“My husband was in the cheer squad in the 1980s, and was starting to think a Grand Final wasn’t possible in his lifetime.” Mrs Holman said.
“It’s funny to see a grown man cry, he went to the (Preliminary Final) game in Sydney and cried like a baby.
“I’ve been asking him for two years to paint the fence, and it took him two days to finish it now. We’ve bought 100 balloons too.
“There will be no words but tears of utter joy if we win.”
Huge crowd for Western Bulldogs last training session
Clifton Hill resident Emma Renehan had a very important job on Saturday: to be bridesmaid at her best friend Emily Shannon’s wedding, but once the Doggies won, her responsibilities doubled.
This is the moment she slipped a guerney over her bridesmaid’s dress and danced up a storm, later describing it as it as “probably the best weekend of my life” and an #emotionoverload.
The iconic Railway Hotel in Yarraville also has a fresh coat of paint ahead of the big Grand Final day, where they are expected to have hundreds gather to watch the game.
Fanatic Chris Hudd goes to Bulldogs games every week, and travels interstate for all games, and has too much Doggies’ merchandise to know what do with, so has started dressing up his son Leo in all his gear.
