ACTOR Samuel Johnson has taken to social media to pay an emotional tribute to his older sister who recently stopped treatment for terminal cancer.

The 2017 Gold Logie winner revealed his much-loved sibling, Connie, is nearing the end of her battle with the disease which inspired the pair to raise millions for cancer research through their charity, Love Your Sister.

“I wish I could soften your pain, or lessen your fear, or give you something tangible,” he wrote on the charity’s Facebook page.

“I’m proud to walk you to the hardest part of the road. The end. The only part of the road in your life that must sadly be travelled alone.

“Chin up please, amidst the growing dark my girl. Shoulders back. Stand tall through that savage march, stand big and tall, dear sister, for you have lived a life to be proud of.

“You’ve loved well, and you’ve been loved well which is all that really matters in the end.”

The mother-of-two has terminal breast cancer and made the recent decision to end all treatment after battling various forms of the disease since she was a child.
