A WEEK after the vulgar comment that ended Barry Hall’s radio career, Triple M co-host Mark Howard has issued an apology.
Howard opened tonight’s Friday Huddle show by saying the off-colour conversation was “inexcusable” and that the whole team was sorry and had learnt from the experience.
“Things were said on this show that were offensive and inexcusable,” he said.

“We all accept responsibility for the part we played in this conversation and we all apologise.”
He went on to say the conversation and the former Swans great’s crude on-air comment disappointed him.
“The topic should never, ever have arisen and, once it did, personally, I’m really disappointed in myself that I didn’t shut it down,” the host said.
He vowed the Triple M team would continue learning from the experience and striving for more.
“We will employ what we learnt this week through numerous conversations,” he continued.
“We still have so, so much to learn to help create positive change both within this box and throughout the wider community in relation to respect for women and for healthy and equal relationships between women and men.”
The comments made last Friday by the former Sydney Swans skipper about fellow commentator Leigh “Joey” Montagna’s wife and her pregnancy received a swift and fierce backlash.
