Tyrone Emanual Massey, convicted armed robber, escapes Townsville prison

A convicted armed robber with the word “menace” and a Townsville postcode tattooed on his face has been found after he escaped prison.

UPDATE, Monday 6.30am:

Police have located the 24-year-old man who allegedly absconded from Townsville Correctional Centre on Saturday.

The man was located at approximately 6.30pm on Sunday, July 14, at a Kelso property.

He has been charged with one count each of escape by persons in lawful custody and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

A convicted armed robber with the word “menace” and the Townsville postcode tattooed on his face has escaped jail.

Queensland Corrective Services said Tyrone Emanual Massey, 26, had bolted from the Townsville Correctional Centre (Male Farm) on Saturday.

Massey, who is heavily tattooed, was serving a five-year prison sentence for armed robbery.

Corrective services warned that Massey should not be approached by members of the public, who were advised to call police on triple-0.

The prisoner is described as dark in complexion with brown eyes and black hair, weighing 70 kilograms and standing 170cm tall.

His tattoos include “FTW” below his left eye, “loyalty” above the left eye and “Menace 4810” below the right eye.

He also has tattoos on his chest, left arm, left hand and left leg.
