Two teenagers have been charged after a property was smashed up during a wild late-night rampage in Cloncurry.
Police were called to an alleged wilful damage incident in the quiet outback town of Cloncurry, east of Mount Isa, around 12.45am on Saturday night.
It will be alleged a group of young people attended a house on Sheaffe Street and smashed several windows at the front of the house.
The window of a vehicle parked at the residence was also allegedly smashed.
One resident said the incident had taken a toll on them: “We are living in fear now.”
It’s understood Saturday’s events arose due to an ongoing dispute, with police confirming that the parties are known to each other.
Police arrested two teenagers following their investigations on Sunday.
A 15-year-old Sunset girl was charged with damage, affray and assault occasioning bodily harm while armed in company.
She faced Mount Isa Children’s Court on Tuesday, February 6.
A 15-year-old Cloncurry boy was charged with wilful damage, affray and assault occasioning bodily harm while armed in company.
He will appear in Cloncurry Children’s Court on Thursday, February 8.
