Car stolen from Maccas, three arrested in Townsville’s Stockland Kmart carpark
Police allege the three children stole a car from a McDonald’s before being boxed in at Kmart on Monday night.

Unmarked police cars boxed in a stolen car at the Stockland Kmart carpark Monday night, with three youths subsequently charged, including an 11-year-old girl.
Townsville district duty officer Acting Senior Sergeant Anthony Kirkham said the Toyota Yaris was allegedly stolen from the Aitkenvale McDonald’s carpark about 7pm on Monday.
Unmarked police cars were following the vehicle and about 10pm were able to box it in while in the Kmart carpark, he said.
No contact was made between any of the vehicles, Acting Snr Sgt Kirkham said.
An 11-year-old girl and 12 and 13-year-olds boys have been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
One of the youths was expected to go to court and two of the young people would undertake restorative justice under the Youth Crime Act, Acting Snr Sgt Kirkham said.
