Suzanne Hadley seeks new AVO against ex-boyfriend Matt Parish

The ex-wife of 2GB broadcaster Ray Hadley has ­applied for a new AVO against former boyfriend Matt Parish, after the rugby league coach emailed her.

The ex-wife of radio broadcaster Ray Hadley has ­applied for a new domestic AVO against former boyfriend Matt Parish.

Suzanne Hadley contacted police and they applied for the AVO on her behalf.

The 55-year-old mother-of-two complained after the retired Balmain Tigers player and coach started emailing her after a period of estrangement, police will allege.

The pair hit the headlines in 2014 when they began a relationship after she split with Mr Hadley.

Police will allege Parish contacted his former partner after the pair had a conversation on the telephone.

It will be alleged Parish interpreted the conversation to mean Ms Hadley wanted to rekindle the two-year relationship that first sparked when the pair met on a girls’ night out at the Terrigal Crown Plaza Hotel soon after she’d separated from her radio commentator husband of 20-years in February 2014.

Suzanne Hadley and broadcaster Ray Hadley had been married for 20 years.

Ms Hadley is understood to have blocked Parish’s number, allegedly prompting the football coach to resort to sending emails to his former lover.

The fashion boutique saleswoman contacted police and requested an AVO.

Parish has not been charged with any wrongdoing.

Ms Hadley, who could not be reach for comment, ­recently moved to Newcastle after reconciling with a ­former boyfriend, ex-Canterbury and Penrith footballer Glen Nissen.

She posted a photo of herself and Nissen to Facebook last month.

It is the second time Ms Hadley has asked for an AVO to be taken out against Parish and the fourth time she has applied for an AVO.

In 2014 she applied for one against her then-husband, Hadley, after the pair allegedly argued at their Dural home.

At the time she lodged a second application against Hadley’s son from his first marriage, Daniel, then a 24-year-old police constable. A day later she withdrew both applications.

The initial AVO against Parish was sought in February 2017, six months after the pair first separated, following a number of incidents in ­December 2016.

The following month Manly Local Court ordered Parish abide by a six-month restraining order preventing him from assaulting, threatening, harassing or intimidating Ms Hadley who, it was said, received text messages from Parish in which he used colourful language.

Mr Parish had been set to fight the AVO but on March 8 he agreed to the terms of the restraining order. Parish agreed to stay away from Ms Hadley but did not admit to any of the allegations made against him.

That AVO prompted an investigation by the NSWRL.

This month Samoa’s NRL team, which Parish coaches, attempted to oust him from the position by petitioning Samoa’s Prime Minister Tuiaepa Sailele Malielegaoi to have Parish and his coaching staff stood down.

The petition was unrelated to the AVO.
