Suzanne Hadley applies for AVO against NSW Blues assistant coach Matt Parish

THE former wife of 2GB broadcaster Ray Hadley has applied for an AVO against her partner, NSW Blues State of Origin assistant coach Matt Parish.

THE former wife of radio broadcaster Ray Hadley has applied for an AVO against her former partner, the NSW Blues State of Origin assistant coach Matt Parish.

The matter is listed to be heard in Manly Local Court on March 2.

Although Suzanne Hadley, who was married to the top-rating 2GB host for 21 years, separated from Parish more than six months ago, the complaint was made to Manly Police last week.

The American-born Mrs Hadley has never spoken about the romance with divorced father Parish, but friends say she was shaken by what she described as false claims she and Parish started dating before her marriage ended.

“It’s been an unbelievably difficult time for her,” one friend said at the time. “Her marriage ended, she ... moved out of the relationship, but because her estranged husband has a popular radio show, she feels she has an obligation to protect him.”

Parish played 55 first grade rugby league matches for Balmain between 1989 and 1993 before turning his focus to coaching.

He has held numerous coaching positions, including assistant roles at the North Queensland Cowboys and Manly Sea Eagles, and a head coaching role at English Super League club the Salford City Reds.

Parish currently coaches the Samoan national rugby league team and is an assistant coach with the NSW Blues under Laurie Daley.
