TASMANIAN distillery 7K is bringing a taste of their gin to this year’s Taste of Summer festival.
The award-winning Derwent Park distillery has been named Taste’s official spirit of choice and will have a huge presence at Princes Wharf across the week long event.
The Salamanca site has been completely reimagined to include the 7K Distillery Pavilion, which will feature an outdoor bar and sprawling deck area for revellers to soak up the sun and enjoy live entertainment.
Distillery founder and director Tyler Clark said he was over the moon to be partnering with Taste of Summer and was especially excited to showcase 7K’s brand new premix offering.
“We get our own space in front of the new main stage on the Salamanca lawns – we’ll be doing it up like the 7K summer gin garden,” Mr Clark said.
“We’re particularly excited to bring one of our newest drinks to the party. When we created 7K Distillery’s Tasmanian Raspberry Gin Fizz we wanted a drink that tastes like summer and I can’t think of a better place to show it off than at the Taste of Summer.
“The drink itself is everything the Taste is about. We created the recipe ourselves, we sourced the ingredients locally, including the raspberries, and we’re making it right here in Tasmania.”
Taste of Summer chair Jarrod Nation said the festival was all about bringing locals together to celebrate quality local produce, and that included 7K’s iconic spirits.
“7K is a proudly Tasmanian product made by Tasmanians for Tasmanians,” Mr Nation said.
“Working with 7K Distillery, we’ve come up with something that we think the locals are going to love.
Drinks and products by 7K, including signature cocktails, will be available at the Pavilion and all bars at the festival.
Tasmania’s Taste of Summer runs from December 27 to January 2.
