You will have been awarded the VCE if you have satisfactorily completed at least 16 units of study, including three units of English, with at least one at unit 3 or 4 level and three sequences of units 3 and 4 in studies other than English.

You will receive a VCE certificate, which the VCAA has sent to your school.

THIS student needs to obtain satisfactory results in further units of study in order to be awarded the Victorian Certificate of Education

If these words are on your Statement of Results, it means you have not yet completed the VCE.

If you were in year 12 this year but have not been awarded your VCE, you do not need to repeat your entire VCE program.

You need only repeat the units you did not pass, or complete extra units so that you meet VCE completion requirements.

If you have not been awarded the VCE, seek further advice from your school or telephone the Post Results and ATAR Service (PRAS) on 9032 1717, 1800 653 080 (country) or email pras@edumail.vic.gov.au

GRADES

Every VCE unit 3 and 4 sequence has three graded assessments: one or two for school-based assessment and at least one for an external assessment.

Some Art and Technology studies have school-assessed tasks (SATs).

Music Style and Composition and the Extended Investigation have an Externally-assessed Task.

These are also graded. Every scored VCE VET program has two grades: one for coursework, one for an external exam.

STUDY SCORES

For each VCE unit 3 and 4 study or scored VCE VET program, a study score follows the grades.

Based on your grades in each study, you will be ranked on a 50-point scale. In all studies, 30 is the average score, 50 the highest. Your study score depends on your performance compared with all other students in that study in that year.

All grades cover a range of scores, so you might get a different study score to another student who got the same letter grade.
