Flowers and tributes have been left at the site of a crash that claimed the life of a young woman at Golden Grove last week.
Just after 12pm on Wednesday, the 32-year-old Blair Athol resident stopped at traffic lights when she was hit by a red Ford station wagon at the intersection of Atlantis Drive and The Grove Way.
The car hit directly in the area of the woman’s driver’s seat.
The 61-year-old Hillbank driver of the Ford was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries, but the woman died at the scene.
A bouquet of pink roses and chrysanthemums was left on the road barrier next to the crash, where yellow police markings were still visible on the bitumen on Monday.
A Father Christmas doll was left inside the bouquet, as well as a card written in child’s scrawl.
“I am sorry for your loss,” the card read.
“You are always loved and never forgotten, may your soul rest in peace.”
On the opposite page was a message left by a person claiming to have been a first responder at the crash.
“I want you to know that I was first at the scene and I was with her,” the person wrote.
“May she forever RIP knowing I did all I could. My sincere thoughts and condolences to you all.”
Police continue their investigation and have also called on the public’s help.
Investigators are seeking dashcam footage of the Ford Territory at approximately 12.10pm on the day of the crash, as it is believed the driver may have fled a rear-ender hit and run only minutes earlier.
They are also looking for a woman who stopped to assist the other driver involved in the hit and run.
The Blair Athol woman’s death marked the 15th life lost on South Australian roads this year, and came just hours after a 31-year-old Brahma Lodge man Dominic Meehan was killed in a crash on Main North Road.
